My daughter just completed the 6 year Harmony Road / Keyboard Musicians class with Ms. Sharon, and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the foundation that they built together in musical ability, understanding, and appreciation.  This is not just a piano class; it’s a holistic introduction to the whole world of music.  My daughter can play the piano, read, transpose, and even compose music, play a little guitar, and sing well enough to go into her musical theater auditions prepared and with confidence (and several times, to get the part).  These classes have been an investment in my daughter’s future, have nurtured and cultivated her natural interests always in an age-appropriate way, and have been worth it many times over.  Thank you, Sharon. - K.W.

I wanted to thank you for everything you have done for my children. My daughter, who graduated from the Harmony Road program, now plays the cello in the orchestra at her middle school. She made honors orchestra and really enjoys it! Everyone tells me that she has a great ear and I know that you taught her that. My son wants to play the bass at school next year so I hope that he enjoys it and continues with it, too. Music is something they will have forever and you have taught them both so much. We truly appreciate you! - S.S.

Miss Sharon is the quintessential music teacher. Our son is still taking piano lessons now at age 13 because he was so lucky to have Miss Sharon as his teacher for six years starting at age four. We’re forever grateful that her patience, warmth and encouragement made his weekly group music lessons both fun and interesting. Miss Sharon's enthusiasm is contagious and her genuine delight in her students makes them want to learn. Miss Sharon not only taught our son to play piano, but also trained his ear to play in ensembles which also helps him now in band at middle school. Most importantly, she nurtured his fondness for music and pride in learning through effort. Even now when he faces a large challenge - musically, academically, or athletically - we remind him of skills he learned in Miss Sharon's class: break large challenges into small steps & practice with increasing complexity then you can master any challenge. When he gets discouraged at anything, we remind him he wanted to quit piano as an ornery six year old because he disliked practicing, but, thankfully, Miss Sharon helped him grow out of that brief phase. His six years with Miss Sharon helped give him confidence that he can learn anything through persistence and resilience. My husband always said Miss Sharon’s voice was musical even when speaking! She is a musical Mary Poppins - fun, firm, magical and an awesome singing voice, too! - M.C.

Sharon started teaching music to my oldest daughter in 2006 and my twins in 2009. During the first few years of teaching, the class was a parent involved class, so each week, I was able to watch Sharon work with many children with different personalities and skill sets. Her ability to work with each student and push them into a love for music is uncanny.  I have always admired Sharon’s patience and calming influence over the children. She used this skill to help her students work through nervousness while performing in front of the class or an audience. When students struggled, (including one of my daughters), she would adapt lessons to suit their needs. When a student is more advanced, she finds ways to push them further. All of my girls have loved Sharon as a teacher. While one has moved on to sports, the other two still take and excel in voice and piano thanks to the foundation Sharon gave them in music. In recent years, my girls have gotten involved in musical theatre, Sharon works with them on their pieces so that they are prepared for auditions and rehearsals. She coaches them on facial expression and acting of a song in addition to the vocal training. - M.T.
